I went to law school because I was interested in the biotechnology industry but I did not want to be an engineer anymore – it was either this or business school. I find the economics of medical inventions and patents intriguing, most particularly because medical inventions are presumably created to cure society’s illnesses while most would assume that patents are created to secure wealth.

Four months ago my goal was to do something loosely related to existing patent law because otherwise, I'd be throwing away both of my engineering degrees (as my parents often remind me). No longer resigned to practicing within the confines of our current regulation and patent system, my goal has evolved into changing that system, not settling for performing within its boundaries.

At the end of the day I have no idea what I want to do yet but I like the idea of working to cure global diseases within the confines of global regulation and a market economy.
