Many talented artists barely scrape by and eventually have to abandon their artistic vision, because not enough people get on board with what they are trying to create. This is a great tragedy. If I throw myself out into the world, armed with some new legal interpretations and a desire to effect a social change, will I succeed? If I scorn working for someone else and hazard out upon my own, armed only with my own wits and a keen sense of justice, will I be able to wrestle enough measly dollar bills to buy some bread? I don't know. I hope so, though.
