I came to law school because I thought this would be the best way to address the pervasive problems that plague our society. The law has played a major role in the creation of our current inequalities. The courts have been crucial in determining which groups have the right to own property and accumulate wealth, which groups receive harsher sentences, and which ones are awarded privileges and protection. In this way, the law has been utilized to preserve a power hierarchy that benefits certain groups while it disadvantages others. As an attorney, I hope to join the struggle for systematic change.
