< < | I left a job as a ‘finance & risk’ consultant to banks, before things went really sour. I thought law school would be intellectually rewarding, grounding me in history and philosophy and training me to be sharper and more disciplined. In terms of a specific job, one idea was that I could work in government on regulations/programs dealing with crisis possibilities (financial panics, global warming, pandemics, nuclear war, etc.). That would relate well to my prior experience, and I think making decisions under high uncertainty is interesting and important. Generally, it would be great to find a bold life-task with the highest promise of aesthetic, ethical, and spiritual becoming … but I’m married, and scared, and I’m not sure what the options are, so I’m likely to make a more ‘responsible’ choice. | > > | I left a job as a ‘finance & risk’ consultant to banks, before things went really sour.
