But have these devices changed our underlying psychological motivations? Our social psychological constitutions? What is the difference, on these views, between, say, those who take instagram photos of a concert today and those who made bootleg tapes of concerts 35 years ago? The difference, whatever it is, seems somewhat cosmetic to me.

You are entitled to restrict access to your paper if you want to. But we all derive immense benefit from reading one another's work, and I hope you won't feel the need unless the subject matter is personal and its disclosure would be harmful or undesirable.
