I came to law school to understand the role that law plays in our society. I am also interested in the comparison of different societies and their appreciations of the rule of law. If we believe that rule of law is essential to the function of a capitalist society, we need to understand the relationship between the rule of law and the structure of the society. A dysfunctional society could be either the effect of a dysfunctional rule of law or the dysfunction rule of law cause a dysfunctional society. The majority of the countries in the world does not have the same system of law as we have in the US and I want to explore the differences and consequences of these diversities.
