Personal Introduction

My name is Whitney Lee and I am originally from Short Hills, NJ, but I have also lived in Rolle, Switzerland, Tel Aviv, Israel, and Lyon, France. Before CLS, I attended Harvard University and after graduating, I took a year off to travel and to figure out whether I actually wanted to be a lawyer. I spent most of my time abroad in Western Europe and Northern Africa, but I have been to the Middle East (while studying abroad at Tel Aviv University), South America, and Antarctica as well (It's a long story).

Why did I decide to take Law & Contemporary Society?

I'm going to forgo writing the long answer for now. Instead, here are two short answers.

(1) I think that I can learn a lot from Eben.

(1) I think that I can learn a lot from Professor Moglen.
 (2) This was the only class I was warned against taking. Last summer, I worked at a large law firm in Midtown. In the middle of the summer, one of the associates learned that I was a rising 1L at Columbia. She pulled me aside and said, "Don't take Professor Moglen's class". A general distrust of corporate lawyers and anyone who pronounces the noun finance as finn-ance led me to do the opposite. So far, I think that I made a good choice.

Why did I decide to take Law in the Internet Society?
