I came to Columbia because I want to be trained. What Eben says about immersion is just about right as to what I wanted and expected; I'd like to not only be fluent in Law but be able to use the language and the thought processes together to get somewhere. I'm not sure I want to be a lawyer in the classical sense for the rest of my life - perhaps I'll take at least the tools elsewhere and do something else, but for now I think this is a good place to keep learning.
