When people first meet me, I can come off as the shy or acquiescent type. To that, all I’ll say is that once my long-time career mentor gave me a t-shirt with a slogan she felt described me: “Sweet, but watch out!” I agree with her: I’m a compassionate bitch. I know I’m in the right place (i.e., law school) because the stories and struggles of people move me. Beyond discovering this about myself, I’m still a work in progress. But I find comfort in hearing Eben say that he knows I’ll get there (wherever there is).
