Law in Contemporary Society
-- MichelleChun - 15 Jan 2009

I came to law school to apply what I learn to my other academic work in political theory. I wanted insight on things like how 20th century events affected how we think about politics, and laws and legal institutions. But I’ve found something ironic and ultimately unsatisfying about studying subjects like political action, by following rigidly prescribed academic paths, in order to fashion a career out of mastering these subjects. To that end, I think I also came to law school with an eye open to the possibility of approaching these subjects in non-academic contexts.
